AGC returned to Naples, Florida, for its 2018 Conference on Surety Bonding and Construction Risk Management. And again this year, the attendance set an all time record. More that 450 representatives of the nation’s leading contractors, sureties, bond producers, insurance carriers, insurance brokers and both construction and insurance law firms contributed to the success of this year’s event.
In the upper right-hand corner lies a link to the agenda for the 2018 conference, including a description of each breakout and plenary session, and the speakers or discussion leaders for each one. Adjacent to each description is a link to the presentation delivered during the session and any handouts.
Prior to the conference but in the same location, AGC also hosted its latest round of meetings for the in-house lawyers and risk managers in the AGC family. While primarily intended for such professionals, these parallel meetings were open to everyone working for the construction companies that form the core of the association’s membership. In 2018, more than 100 professionals participated in the discussions.
On the same day, the Contract Bonds Advisory Committee of the Surety and Fidelity Association of America also met.
AGC’s annual Conference on Surety Bonding and Construction Risk Management had a quiet beginning as a modest committee meeting. Over the years, it has become a much larger event. It continues, however, to focus on the thought leaders in the field of construction risk management, including the construction, surety, insurance and legal professionals who continue to play such important roles.
This conference serves and supports everyone playing a senior role in construction risk management. That group includes the senior executives of the construction companies in the AGC family, and particularly the in-house lawyers and risk managers for these companies. In addition, the regular attendees include the sureties, bond producers, insurance carriers, insurance brokers, lawyers and other professionals on whom such executives continue to depend for advice and assistance.
The 2019 conference will be in the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Florida. And it will run from Monday, January 28, to Wednesday, January 30. On that Monday, and prior to the opening session, AGC will also host another round of meetings for the in-house lawyers and risk managers in the AGC family.
Regular attendees will quickly recognize that this new location is merely minutes from the property that has hosted the conference for the last nine years. They will also note that AGC has carefully selected the dates to avoid any conflicts with the 2019 Super Bowl!
