AMERICAN EXPRESS CONTRACT CONNECTIONS:

Business-to-Business Matchmaking

AGC of America in collaboration with American Express OPEN and the National 8(a) Association are providing general contractors, sub contractors, and suppliers a window during the AGC Convention where buyers and sellers take part in one-on-one meetings with government agencies and large prime contractor representatives (February 27, 2018: 2-5PM | meetings will occur in 15 minute increments). American Express Contract Connections will allow selected businesses the opportunity to pitch their services, ask questions, and get real-time information on upcoming contracts.

HOW IT WORKS

February 27, 2018 | 2:00 – 5:00 PM (meetings occur in 15 minute increments)

Your Meetings:

  • The Contract Connections Team will determine your meetings for the company
  • Meetings will be based on the contracting representatives’ needs and your company’s contracting experience and expertise
  • Each company will need to complete a Matchmaking Profile by January 30, 2018
  • Your schedule of meetings will be emailed to you 1 (one) week prior to the conference

On-Site Meetings:

  • Due to availability, your company may not get pre-scheduled meetings, however there are two options to get meetings:
    – Cancellations
    – Open-Call
  • To see availability due to cancellations, come see representatives at the Contract Connections Registration Desk for assistance
  • Open-Call tables will be announced every 20 minutes, after the pre-scheduled meetings begin. If tables become available you will need to be waiting outside of the room in the designated area to be accommodated

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

Preparing for Your Meetings:

  • Perfect your elevator pitch about what sets your company apart from others
  • Identify what your objective is for each meeting
  • Have plenty of business cards and brochures/capability statements
  • Do research before the event on who you will be meeting with
  • After your meetings, you should follow-up with who you met with for next steps

Do’s & Don’ts:

  • Please make sure to be early for your appointment time. If you miss your pre-scheduled meeting time, your meeting will be cancelled and given to another business
  • Listen to the “Gate Keepers” at the main door, who will provide instructions on where to stand and when it’s time to enter the room for your meeting
  • After your meeting go back outside the room; don’t wonder around to find an available table

NOTE: Sellers MUST be registered for the AGC Convention to participate in the matchmaking.  Participating Buyers are not required to register for the AGC Convention, but can do so at a discounted rate (Please contact us for details)
